Viewing Clarence Jay Paul (1857-1937).Clarence Jay Paul (1857-1937).Admitted to the Michigan bar at age twenty-one, Clarence Paul practiced law in Battle Creek, his hometown, for about four years. In 1882, he and his family moved to Hope, North Dakota, where he resumed practice, held public office and engaged in numerous civic affairs until 1893, when he accepted an offer of a partnership by Charles J. Bartelson, a Minneapolis lawyer. He practiced in Minneapolis until retirement in 1927. He died on December 8, 1937, at age eighty, and was accorded a memorial at proceedings of the Hennepin County Bar Association the next year. |
