Viewing William Furst (1872-1939).William Furst (1872-1939).At the age of thirty, William Hurst earned the first of three law degrees from the University of Minnesota Law Department. He was admitted to the bar on June 2, 1902, and began practicing in Minneapolis. He won immediate success in the courts and, with a growing reputation, attracted a large corporate clientele which included milling companies and other agriculture concerns. A consummate appellate brief writer, he was retained as a consultant on complex litigation by other lawyers. He died on June 8, 1939, at age sixty-six. The following year, Harry S. Swensen delivered a memorial to him on behalf of the Hennepin County Bar Association. |
