Viewing James Fleming (1895-1935).James Fleming (1895-1935).For over a year, James Fleming served in the Great War as Chief Clerk of the Appeal Draft Board of the Third District of Minnesota. After the armistice, he "read law" in the firm of James E. O'Brien, a Minneapolis lawyer. He was admitted to practice on September 2, 1922, at age twenty-seven. In the next decade he was associated with several firms in Minneapolis. He died on February 11, 1935, at age thirty-nine. In memorial proceedings on February 8, 1936, District Court Judge Paul Carroll recalled him as a "pleasant, likeable, capable man," a lawyer who had that that enviable, admirable attribute, "good judgment." |
