Viewing Harold J. Alton (1903-1937).Harold J. Alton (1903-1937).Admitted to the bar in 1927, shortly after graduating from the St. Paul College of Law, Harold J. Alton practiced less than ten years before he died in Wabasha after a brief illness. At that time, he was city attorney and partner of John Murdoch, a pillar of the bar. Several months later, a committee of the county bar association, one of whom was Murdoch, presented a tribute to him in district court. His professional ethics, integrity and ability to make and keep friendships were recalled, and, poignantly, that he "gave great promise of attaining eminence in his profession" -- a promise unfilled because of his early and untimely passing. |
