Viewing Thomas Monroe Strickler (1899-1930).Thomas Monroe Strickler (1899-1930).The law could not hold Thomas Strickler. He was an adventurer whose great passion was aviation. In 1923, he graduated the Minnesota College of Law, passed the bar examination, set up shop in St. Paul, and enlisted in the Air Squadron of the Minnesota National Guard. He was 24 years old. In 1928, he stopped practicing and accepted a position in a fledging airline. On October 10, 1930, while flying over the Rocky Mountains, his plane went down and he was killed. The following year, a memorial service was held for him by the Ramsey County Bar Association. |
