Viewing Edward J. Goff (1878-1942).Edward J. Goff (1878-1942).In 1911, at the age of 33, Edward James Goff, enrolled in law school. Upon graduating he was appointed Assistant Hennepin County Attorney and there he remained employed for the rest of his life, the last 12 years as County Attorney. He died on August 18, 1942, at age 64. At memorial services by the Hennepin County Bar Association the next year, Per M. Larson, an Assistant County Attorney himself, recalled, "His success in the trial of criminal cases was phenomenal...The roster of men convicted and serving time as a result of Mr. Goff's prosecution sounds like reading from the underworld's 'Who's Who?'" |
